We’re building a movement to stand against rising antisemitism and anti-Muslim hate amidst the ongoing conflict in Israel and Palestine.

As a coalition of charities, community organisations and faith groups, we’ve come together to give a voice to the majority of the public who stand against hate.

We’re here to create a space for people to grieve for all civilians killed in this war — Israeli or Palestinian — and to share a vision of hope that people of different backgrounds and faiths can live in peace alongside each other, here in the UK and around the world.

Stand with us

We’re asking people across the UK to stand with us again on 21st January for a day of Building Bridges across the country. Download our toolkit and plan an event in your local community.

Our story

On 15th November 2023, a coalition of political, faith and civil society leaders came together to remember those we have lost in the terrible conflict Palestinians and Israelis, Muslims and Jews; everyone suffering from this war. We put out an appeal to the public to join us for a sombre moment of reflection and togetherness — without flags or placards. Hundreds of people answered the call at short notice, gathering in Westminster to offer thoughts, love and prayers are with all those civilians suffering in Israel and in Palestine. Many more sent messages of support.

Realising there was a need for a much bigger moment of unity, we quickly arranged a second vigil in central London on Sunday 3rd December. Thousands of people stood with us and, together for humanity, making it the first mass event of its kind in the UK.

Our vigils were just the start. We hope people will take inspiration from it and organise their own moments of togetherness at a local level to bring people together to focus on our shared humanity and our rejection of hatreds. Now, we’re working to turn a moment into a movement – one that holds hope for peace, stands against prejudice, and reminds us all of the importance of placing our common humanity above all else.

Together for Humanity is supported by the Together Coalition – a coalition of hundreds of the UK’s best known brands and charities working to build kinder, closer and more connected communities.

The organisations and individuals who have helped steer Together for Humanity include:

Julie Siddiqi the Interfaith Advisor for Together,  Imam Qari Asim, HOPE Not Hate, 38 Degrees, Belong, Citizens UK, British Future, Yachad, HIAS+JCORE, Solutions Not Sides, The Church of England, New Horizons in British Islam, Nisa-Nashim, The Faith and Belief Forum, The Oxford Foundation, Christian Muslim Forum, The Council of Christians and Jews and Faiths Forum for London. A number of other individuals and organisations across faith and civil society have advised and supported the initiative
